Seth's Teaching Philosophy

Coming from an education and fulltime career mainly comprised of musical diversity, I recognize the importance of all genres.  I feel that there is much to learn and appreciate from all styles of music.  To discover an infinite amount of ways to express oneself, I also urge students to expand their musical vocabulary through the study of music theory, ear training, music appreciation and composing.  I have had past students move on to conservatories for further study and I've also had students hit the road with their local rock band.  I feel that there is never one teaching formula for all students.  Everyone has separate ambitions and goals and ways of obtaining them.  With lessons, I provide current real world experiences that have a strong percussion education backing.  Whether you're attempting Dave Hollinden's "Cold Pressed" or ACDC's "Back in Black," I will help you reach your musical goals.
