Seth Littlefield's Biography

 

Seth Littlefield received his Bachelor of Music degree in Percussion Performance from Central Washington University.  He also traveled to Cuba and studied Afro-Cuban percussion and ethnomusicology with Chuck Silverman and Manini from Afro-Cuban de Matanzas.  Other teachers include: Garey Williams, Dr. Andrew Spencer, Steve Smith and Mark Ivestor.  After graduating, Seth began teaching, performing, and composing in and around Seattle.  He continues to do so today. 

 

Seth performs a variety of music including rock, jazz, orchestral, salsa, and classical Indian music.  He has played with such musicians as David Sanchez, Ray Holman, Larry Hollow, Brandi Carlile, Blake Lewis and Dave Brubeck and accompanied for Tony Award nominee choreographer Donald Byrd.  Seth has also had the privilege of performing at both the International Association of Jazz Educators conference and the Music Educators National Conference.  In addition to performing and teaching, Seth is sound engineer and producer for Undersea Records and has received numerous commissions to compose music for various organizations such as Walrus Dance Company, Peninsula Dance Theatre, and the DCS films documentary The Warrens.
